Interaction with the Industry
CEFET/RJ is a Federal Institution of Higher Education with more than 100 years of history. Over these years, it has established its own identity associated with technological development and the training of professionals recognized by the society of Rio de Janeiro, particularly by the regional industry sectors. Regarding interaction with the industry, the faculty of the Program participate in projects with research centers such as the Petrobras Research Center (CENPES), Fiocruz, the Navy, among others. Below are the main ongoing initiatives and agreements:
Coordinator of the Technological Innovation Center (CONIT):
CONIT is a center organized by CEFET-RJ that promotes interaction between students, researchers, and industry professionals. Weekly, calls for proposals and opportunities with companies are sent to the faculty.

DEPEQ (Department of Research) Calls for Proposals:
DEPEQ issues calls aimed at fostering projects that involve cooperation with industry, such as applied research and technological development projects. These calls encourage the participation of partner companies, enabling the execution of projects that meet market needs and promote innovation.

Research Groups:
PPEEL includes various research groups that work closely with industry, developing solutions for real-world sector problems. These groups operate in areas such as automation, energy systems, electronics, and telecommunications, offering technical support and technological innovation for partner companies.

The Directorate of Research and Postgraduate Studies (DIPPG) has technical and scientific cooperation agreements with research centers to strengthen university-industry interaction. These agreements allow for joint projects, knowledge exchange, and access to cutting-edge laboratories and technologies, benefiting both students and the companies involved.

PPEEL faculty are involved in research with the Artificial Intelligence Center of the State of Rio de Janeiro (CIA-Rio):
CIA-Rio is an innovation center dedicated to the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies applied to strategic sectors, particularly the Oil & Gas (O&G) industry, which is crucial to the economy of the state of Rio de Janeiro. Based at PUC-Rio and represented by LIRA and the Tecgraf Institute, CIA-Rio brings together researchers from renowned institutions such as UERJ, UFRJ, UFF, IME, and CEFET-RJ. The center promotes collaboration between AI, geophysics, and engineering experts to propose innovative solutions for the challenges faced by partner companies and network members.

INESC P&D Brasil is an institution dedicated to innovation, research, and technological development in Brazil, working in collaboration with universities, companies, and research centers. Inspired by the model of INESC (Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology, and Science) in Portugal, INESC P&D Brasil seeks to promote knowledge and technology transfer to strengthen industrial competitiveness and foster economic and social development in the country.
