Courses
The MSc in Electrical Engineering of PPEEL is a strito-sensu graduate course that can be concluded in at least 12 months or in a maximum period of 24 months. To conclude the course, the candidate must accomplish a study plan that includes:
- To complete, with satisfactory performance, a total of 24 credits of classes, that is, 9 credits of mandatory classes and 15 credits of elective classes;
- To complete, with satisfactory performance, the mandatory classes "Seminar for Dissertation of Master" (0 credits) and "Research for Dissertation of Master" (0 credits). For grant holder students (only), it is also mandatory to attend the class "Teaching Internship" (0 credits) with satisfactory performance;
- To develop, present and defend the text of a dissertation of his/her own authorship, in the presence of an examining committee composed of PPEEL professors and members of an external Programme to CEFET/RJ.

EEL 6005 – Mathematics Methods in Electrical Engineering
Credits: 3
Vector spaces, bases, dimension. Linear transformations. Matrices. Gaussian elimination. Pseudo-inverse, quadratic forms. Determinants. Functions of a complex variable. First and second order ordinary differential equations. Laplace transform. Function series: Power series, Taylor series, Fourier series. Partial differential equations: potential equation, heat equation and wave equation. Special functions.
