About PPEMM
CEFET / RJ is a Federal Institution of Higher Education, which has almost 100 years of history and that over the years has established its own identity associated with technological development and the training of professional staff recognized by society, and in particular by the industry segments regional. The contribution to the training of engineering professionals in particular has been a successful experience for thirty years.
In relation to the traditional courses of Mechanical Engineering, the course taught at CEFET / RJ presents a solid base in the area of Materials. The students of this course, many of whom participate in research programs at the Institution such as PIBIC (Institutional Scholarship Program of Scientific Initiation of CEFET / RJ, evaluated by CNPq among the 5 best in the country), have been since the beginning of the course, in 2008, the main stakeholders to develop master's dissertations, which proposes the integration between these two areas, and, in this way, to continue their training.
The Post-Graduate Program in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Technology (PPEMM) aims to train professionals capable of understanding, analyzing, synthesizing and reflecting critically in a multidisciplinary way. The proposal of the PPEMM allows to contribute to the formation of doctors and masters capable of acting in research activities and teaching in subjects involving the integration of the area of Materials with Mechanics. These are tightly interconnected areas whose advanced knowledge becomes essential for addressing a variety of engineering issues. In the current moment that crosses Brazil, with the country's need to establish itself as a world leader in scientific and technological development, there is a strong demand both in academia and industry for this type of academic profile.
CEFET / RJ is strategically located, which can be a facilitator both for students and for the development of the research itself, considering the possibility of partnerships with industry and other research institutions.
