For 48 hours, more than 600 college students from 25 universities around the world joined Texas A&M University virtually to tackle some of the most challenging issues facing the planet today. From water insecurity solutions to stopping the spread of disease and creating new technology for the classroom, this competition test the limits of creativity and resourcefulness. Team Tupã from CEFET/RJ (Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica Celso Suckow da Fonseca) and UFRJ (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro) was selected by external judges as one of the Global Top Five Teams from the first-place teams of 25 universities of 16 countries.

FINAL COMPETITION - WINNING TEAMS
The Global Top Five Teams participated in the Final Competition at Texas A&M University on April 23-24. Team Tupã from CEFET/RJ (Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica Celso Suckow da Fonseca) and UFRJ (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro) won the first-place in Invent for the Planet 2019 Final Competition. The team from Brazil developed an innovative idea that could benefit millions of people with a vision impairment.
